About
When I was growing up, I had an obsession with ski movies. I could not get enough of the escapism they provided me. Everyday I came home from school and watched Greg Stumps, License to Thrill. The film brought me into the mountains even though I was probably headed to my after school job. That is what I love about films, they allow the viewer to go to these far off places and experience the sensation of being in the mountains.
As I got older, I moved to Steamboat Springs Colorado. Naturally I brought my collection of ski and snowboard films along. I was skiing some of the best snow I had ever seen and I realized that telling the stories of a ski town needed proof. After all, what does 33 inches of snow look like? So I bought a camera and began to film a different side of mountain life. My films are reflection of this and to this day I still watch five or six ski and snowboard films a week.
MMP is about life in the mountains. I spend my year filming and skiing in and around Colorado and then when the snow melts, I head for Whistler. The movies are a reflection of that and I will continue to bring a new story every year. I have been lucky enough to have great friends and family who have helped me make this dream a reality. To all my friends both old and new, thank you.
Enjoy the show,
Michael
